Here you will find some rules and guidelines for making Bit By Bit Stable a happy place for both riders and horses.

Barn Rules:

  1. ASTM/SEI Hard hats to be worn at all times by everyone when mounted. NO Exceptions.
  2. Jumping allowed only with permission of the instructor.
  3. Lessons to be prepaid (a minimum of 4 lessons at a time per student) or charged the single lesson rate.
  4. Dogs are not invited on the property.
  5. Lessons may be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance or you will be charged. Frequent cancellation of your lesson may result in the loss of your lesson spot.
  6. Be on time. Show up at least 20 minutes early to tack up if your horse is not in the lesson before you and plan on 15/20 minutes to take care of your horse if not used in a lesson after you.
  7. All riders must sign a release before riding or handling a horse.
  8. Smoking is prohibited on the property.
  9. Please notify BBB management of any necessary repairs, maintenance, problem, complaints, or needed supplies.
  10. Guests may not ride or handle horses at BBB without prior permission from BBB management.
  11. Do not leave a horse unattended in crossties.
  12. Horse's should be fed treats from a bucket or during feed time. Please do not hand feed treats to BBB horses as horses can become pushy and nippy.
  13. You are hereby advised that direct loss, damage or injury to your horse, tack, equipment or trailer is not covered by BBB insurance, while on these premise. You as the owner of these personal property items have the financial interest in same, therefore it is up to you to be sure that they are insured under a homeowners, or tenant's, or other insurance policy or under a separate policy as in the case of loss, injury, damage or death of a horse.
  14. Boarding and riding at BBB is a privilege. Actions such as stealing, flagrant damage of stable property, abuse of animals, physical or verbal abuse of BBB personnel or any other actions which are deemed detrimental to BBB will not be tolerated and will result in the immediate expulsion from the premise.
Boarders/Leasers
  1. Board is due and payable the first of every month. Invoices not paid by the 10th of the month will incur a $15 late fee.
  2. Report any changes of address, telephone numbers, or horse status to BBB management. When leaving town , please advise management where you can be reached and what arrangements have been made for your horse.
  3. If BBB is unable to reach you and feels that it is a medical emergency, the vet will be called and the owner will be responsible for any charges that are incurred.
Barn philosophies...

  1. Help those that are younger or less experienced.
  2. Take direction and advice from those that are older or more experienced.
  3. Let Mary know if there are any problems or if anything is upsetting you.
  4. Appreciate the time you are able to spend around horses. We are so lucky to have them in our lives.
  5. Only kind words (no talking behind anyone back).
  6. Always try your best.
  7. Clean up after yourself and your horse.
  8. Have fun. Smile.
Tips for Parents:

  1. Feel free to watch your kids ride and encourage them (please remember it is the instructors job to teach).
  2. If it's been raining, there will be mud. Dress appropriately.
